Description
The term “Masu” translates to “growth” in Japanese and is thus an icon of prosperity and great happiness. The technique to craft the Masu Box with fine precision has been passed down by ancient craftsmen and is still practised by Japanese artisans. Found this product interesting? Made from Paulownia wood which is known in Japanese as kiri (桐), also known as the “Princess Tree”. Paulownia serves as the Government Seal of Japan and is used by the Cabinet and the Government of Japan (whereas the chrysanthemum is the Imperial Seal of Japan).
