Charcoal Hibachi Grill – Usage Guide

This traditional Japanese Charcoal Hibachi Grill is ideal for restaurant settings, patios, and outdoor gatherings. It is designed for use with Japanese sumibi or binchotan charcoal, as well as natural wood lump charcoal, which burn cleanly and enhance the flavor of your food.

Before You Begin

1. For Outdoor Use Only – This grill must only be used in a well-ventilated outdoor area.
2. Proper Charcoal Quantity – Add just enough charcoal to create a single layer at the bottom of the grill. Overloading it can lead to excessive heat and unsafe conditions.

Lighting the Charcoal

Note: Charcoal and lighting fluids are not included with this grill.

1. Use metal tongs to arrange a small mound of charcoal at the center, placing fuel starter packs or solid fire starters underneath.
2. Once the charcoal begins glowing red and is partially covered with white ash, carefully spread the coals evenly across the grill’s base.
3. Charcoal can also be pre-lit outside the grill using a charcoal starter chimney, cooking torch, or a cooking net over an open flame before transferring it into the grill.

After You Are Done Cooking

1. Once finished, allow all charcoal to burn out completely before disposal, or transfer hot coals to a fireproof container and extinguish with sand. Never pour water directly into the grill.
2. When the grill is cool, clean the interior using a damp cloth or paper towel.
3. Ensure complete cooling before storage.
4. Store the grill in a dry, sheltered location. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or humidity.

Important Safety & Care Tips

• Avoid direct water contact. Pouring water into the grill can cause structural damage or cracking.
• Keep away from flammable surfaces. Since the grill reaches very high temperatures, do not use it on materials like carpets, tarps, or mats. Ensure that the bottom does not directly touch any flammable surfaces—always use a fire-resistant base.
• Do not move while in use. Handling the grill while hot can be dangerous.
• Never leave burning charcoal unattended. Always ensure the fire is fully extinguished before leaving the area.
• Handle with care. The body of the grill is made from kiln-fired ceramic and can break if dropped.
