Description
The Japanese Mt Fuji Furoshiki depicts Mt Fuji, located on the main island of Honshu in Japan, as one of the most iconic symbols associated with Japanese culture and history. It is a dormant volcano that has been worshipped as a sacred mountain for centuries by the people of Japan. The first recorded ascent to its summit was made in 663 AD by an anonymous monk who documented his journey in a famous poem known as “The Song Of Climb”. Since then it has become an important pilgrimage site for many religious sects throughout Japanese history and continues to be revered today both spiritually and culturally.
