Description
The outer layer of this Makunouchi Lunch Box Set features a traditional fan design that represents prosperity; as the fan’s blades spread out, the action is very similar to a blooming flower, or the spreading of wealth, and gold-coloured fans are thought to attract wealth. During the Heian period (794 to 1185), aristocrats and samurai used golden fans to demonstrate their social status.
